Introduction: The study investigated the amputees¡¯ condition and their satisfaction to the prosthesis and figured out the problem of the existing prosthesis.
Methods: A survey of 25 amputees who used the prosthesis from May 2014 to April 2017 was conducted.
Results: Most of the thigh amputated patients are male, and this population had a main age is 40¡50. Even though transfemoral amputee have used their prosthesis well, satisfaction for their prosthesis is very poor. Here, we pay attention to the convenience and practicality of the prosthesis. Most of the amputees were supported by Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance Act. 40% amputees had experienced out of order of prosthesis, and the most malfunctioning part was the socket. These amputees react positively to smart prosthesis and expected improved multiple functions and natural walking.
Conclusion: When manufacturing and improving the prosthesis, it should be considered and reflected the user¡¯s lifestyle and personal physical characteristics.
